Similarly,ecologyhasbeenaffectedaswell.Andconsiderablenumberofspecieshavebeenextinctastheyearsgobymanycreatureswhichwerecommoninthepastarebecominglessandless,evenrare.TheTibetantelope,forinstance,isagoodexample.SincetheantelopesofTibethaveapartoffurontheirbodywhichcanbemadeintoapreciouscape,drivenbysomelawlessdealersmanyvillagerskilledantelopesexcessivelyandshockingforthelargesunsoffortune.Becauseofthis,thenumberoftheantelopesofTibethassharplyfallenfromoveronemilliontolessthanonehundredthousand.Andwhatsmore,thenumberhasnowdecreasedby20thousandperyear.
QingZangPlatean,whichwastheirhomeland,istheirtombsnow.Thisishownaturehassufferedwhatwehavedonetoit.However,natureandsufferanymore.Shelosthertemperandcouldnolongerpossiblyputupwithhumans.Shegavehumansharshpunishment,whichshethoughttheydeserved.Theacidrainhascausedthelessofmorethan100billiondollarsthroughouttheworldperyear.Andbecauseofdesertisation,soilisbecomingmoreandmorebarren.Thesoilofmanyplanesisnowuntilforgrowingplants.Theairislessfresh,andalotofpeopleevengetmanystrangerdiseases.
Thoseareallthepunishmentofnaturetohumanspollution.Ontheotherhand,humanbeingsufferalotaswell.Soitleadstoaseriousofquestions--Whycan weliveharmoniouslywithnature?Whycan wesetabalancebetweenhumanandnature?Whycan wepaymoreattentiontonatureandtrytoreserveit?Therefore,beforewetakeimmediatemeasurestodosomething,weshouldbeawareofthefactthat"Conqueringthenature"willneverbeourgoal,instead,weshouldtakethenatureasourintimatefriend.Preservingnatureisnotonlypreservingourhome,butthecivilizationofhumancommunityaswell.
